AIS Fleet Partner API Terms

These terms apply to every response delivered through the AIS Fleet partner API to a holder of a partner API key. They are an agreement between you and Saillogger LLC, the operator of AIS Fleet, and they sit alongside the written partner agreement under which your key was issued. Where that agreement and these terms differ, the written agreement governs. Using a key accepts these terms.

1. Your key

A partner API key identifies your organization and carries the request limits, licensed endpoints and any address restrictions we agreed with you. Keep it secret, store it as you would any production credential, and tell us promptly if it may have been exposed so we can rotate it. You are responsible for calls made with your key. Do not share it outside your organization, embed it in a client application, publish it in a repository, or work around a rate limit by holding several keys.

2. Vessel data

You may use vessel positions and vessel particulars obtained through the API inside your own product and its user-facing results, and you may retain them as reasonably needed to operate that product and keep an audit record.

You may not:

Where you display data obtained from this API, credit it to Saillogger.

3. Vessel photos

Photos delivered through the API are community contributions, published as watermarked display copies, and licensed to you only for identifying, describing, comparing, or providing context about the depicted vessel in your product. Serve or link them from the URLs we return.

You may not:

A photo may be withdrawn at any time, including at a contributor's request. Read the photo list again rather than caching a URL indefinitely, and stop displaying a photo that is no longer listed.

4. Availability and accuracy

A reported position, its timestamp, and every vessel particular can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. They are informational only. Never use them for navigation, collision avoidance, search and rescue, an emergency, or any decision where life, safety, or property depends on accuracy, and make that limitation clear to your own users.

Responses are provided “as is”. We do not promise a service level through these terms, and we may change, limit, or interrupt the API, including to protect the service or to comply with an obligation to a data source. To the extent the law allows, Saillogger LLC disclaims implied warranties and is not responsible for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential loss. Our total responsibility relating to the API will not exceed the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

5. Suspension, changes and contact

We may suspend or revoke a key that is used outside these terms, that threatens the stability of the service, or whose partner agreement has ended. On termination, stop calling the API and stop displaying photos obtained through it; you may retain vessel data already delivered as permitted in section 2.

The version published when you make a call governs that call. We may publish a later version, and will give notice of a material change through the contact on your partner agreement. Washington State law governs these terms, subject to rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
