Open a station's row under My Stations for its own page: how much of the time it has been working, and what it has been hearing over the last 30 days.
Nobody but you sees any of it, and there is no league table. The gear at the top right holds the station's settings on a page of their own: the address to point the receiver at, where it listens from, its name, switching it off, and removing it. A receiver you have just added and that has not sent anything yet opens straight on those settings, because the address is what you came for.
The figures
The page opens with a card of five numbers.
- The big number is the boats your station heard in the last 24 hours, and beside it what it hears on an average day across the same 30 days the chart below draws, so you can tell a busy day from a quiet one at a glance. Older history moves neither.
- The last hour: boats heard just now, and of those, the ones only your station reported. Those are the boats that are on the map because you were listening and nobody else was.
The unique-vessel figure is usually lower where other receivers cover the same water. It measures your station's contribution to coverage, rather than the quality of its equipment.
A boat counts once however many times you hear her, and only boats count: aids to navigation, base stations and search aircraft are kept as coverage but are never called boats.
Uptime
Uptime is the share of the time your station was hearing boats, over the last 24 hours and over the last 30 days. It counts from the minute you added the station, so a receiver you paired this morning has a real number straight away, and a station younger than a day shows one figure rather than two, because two would be the same measurement twice.
Time is counted in ten-minute blocks, and a block counts when your station heard a boat's position in it. One boat is enough: a marina of moored boats reads as time spent hearing, because your station heard them. A still night in an empty anchorage lowers the figure even though nothing is wrong, so a busy port is a kinder test of a receiver than a lonely bay.
Time the station is switched off counts against it. The figure measures the whole window, from the day you added the station, and a station that is off is not hearing.
Two things that help make sense of a low number:
- If your receiver is a transponder it hears your own boat, and she counts like any other, so an anchorage that is empty apart from you still reads as time spent hearing.
- For a phone, the app hears while it is open and connected, and locking the phone pauses it. That is fine and expected.
If your uptime is low and the water around you is empty, the figure is telling you about the water.
Boats heard each day
The first chart draws every day your station has been running, up to the last 30, plus today as it fills in. A young station draws the days it has had rather than a month of blanks.
- The full column is the boats that sent a position and this station heard, counted once per day.
- The darker part at the foot of each column is the boats only your station heard: the ones no other receiver or feed reported that day, including any other station of yours.
That darker part is the coverage nobody else was giving the network. As more receivers join near you it falls, and that is the network working rather than your station failing.
Range each day
The second chart is your station's range each day, in nautical miles: how far it reached.
It is measured from the traffic itself. We take the two boats farthest apart that your station heard that day and read half the distance between them, because a receiver sits somewhere in the middle of what it hears. It is an estimate rather than a survey, and it needs no position for the receiver, so it works from the first day of every station.
A quiet day reads low even when nothing has changed aboard, so read it as a trend over a week rather than as a measurement of your aerial.

Days run midnight to midnight UTC, so a day's column may not line up with your own calendar day. A day's figures are fixed once it has ended.
Days with nothing to show
A day you added the station, a whole day it was switched off, and a day we have no record for are drawn as a faint tick on the baseline rather than a bar, because nothing was heard and there is no measurement of the water to draw.
The daily average is a different question, and it counts every one of the last 30 finished days, or every finished day since you added the station where that is fewer. A day the station was switched off counts in it as a day with no boats, so a station run on one day of thirty, hearing 50 boats, averages two a day and not fifty. The day you added the station and a day we have no record for are the two that stay out of it: on the first the station did not yet exist for most of the day, and the second is our gap rather than yours.
That is why the chart and the average can look like they disagree about the same day. The chart plots the water and the average scores the contribution, and on a day nobody was listening there was no water to measure.
